NEW YORK (CNNMoney)
JPMorgan (JPM, Fortune 500) and Wells Fargo (WFC, Fortune 500) are scheduled to release their results before the opening bell. On the economic front, meanwhile, reports are due from the government at 8:30 a.m. ET on retail sales and producer prices.
U.S. stock futures were slightly lower ahead of the opening bell Friday.
Fear & Greed Index
U.S. stocks finished higher Thursday. The Dow and the S&P closed up about 0.4%, though the Nasdaq fell, dragged down by weakness in the tech sector.
European markets were lower in morning trading, as concerns about the mounting cost of the Cyprus bailout ended a four-day winning streak. EU finance ministers will meet in Dublin later Friday to discuss Cyprus and the status of rescue programs in Portugal and Ireland.
Asian markets also ended lower. The Shanghai Composite declined 0.6%, the Nikkei lost 0.5% and the Hang Seng dropped 0.1%.
